Overview
Andrew represents clients in the acquisition, development, financing, leasing, and disposition of commercial properties, including multifamily and mixed-use developments, office buildings, shopping centers, industrial sites, and hotels. His clients include commercial real estate developers, banks, pension funds, private equity groups, real estate investment trusts and various non-real estate-related companies. Andrew has played a key role in marquee development projects in Arizona, Colorado and throughout the southwestern United States.
Commercial Development
- Represented a developer in the acquisition of multiple parcels and the development of over 600 luxury multifamily residential units within a master planned community in Phoenix, Arizona.
- Represented a developer in the acquisition and development of an 88-acre master planned development in Peoria, Arizona, including negotiating over $500,000,000 in equity investments and construction financing for multiple residential and industrial projects within the master planned development.
- Represented a developer in the acquisition of airport-adjacent agricultural land and the development of a multi-phase 2,000,000 square foot industrial development in Mesa, Arizona.
Secured Lending
- Represented a nationally chartered bank in the origination of a $115,000,000 loan secured by a retail property within Times Square in New York City, New York.
- Represented a New York-based life insurance company in the origination of a $60,000,000 acquisition loan for a Class-A office building in Phoenix, Arizona.
- Represented a pension fund’s secured lending group in the origination of a $75,000,000 acquisition and construction loan for a historic building in downtown Los Angeles, California.
Acquisitions and Dispositions
- Represented a land owner in the disposition of 25,000 acres of raw land valued at approximately $187,500,000 slated to be developed as a master-planned community.
- Represented a homebuilding company in the sale of its real property and related assets as it exited from a major market in Texas.
- Represented a chemical and industrial products company in the acquisition of a 1,050,000 square-foot manufacturing facility in eastern Washington.
Leasing Matters
- Represented a large health care company in a 360,000 square-foot office lease for its new corporate headquarters in Phoenix, Arizona.
- Represented a group of land owners in the negotiation of an oil and gas lease and surface use agreement on 250 acres of land slated for residential development in Aurora, Colorado.
- Represented a developer in the negotiation of a ground lease for a 100,000 square-foot skilled nursing facility on a hospital campus in Tucson, Arizona.
Settlements and Loan Workouts
- Represented a state agency in the settlement, termination and release of certain claims and rights related to the development of lands held in a public trust arrangement.
- Represented a lender in the origination and work out of an approximately $40,000,000 debtor-in-possession loan related to the bankruptcy of a large health care facility.
- Represented a lender in the work out and settlement of a $26,000,000 credit facility secured by five full-service car wash and convenience store locations throughout Arizona.
