Procopio’s Emerging Growth and Venture Capital practice has a new leader, corporate law partner Paul Johnson. Also co-chair of the firm’s Mergers & Acquisitions practice, Paul brings decades of experience to the firm’s entrepreneurial startup clients with experience leading a dedicated attorney team.

Paul has long helped entrepreneurs and their investors get companies formed, funded and sold. His services include initial company formation, negotiation of seed, early and mid-stage equity financings, and buy and sell-side mergers and acquisitions. Paul works alongside his startup clients as they grow with venture capital investments and public and private securities offerings. He has formed a number of startups that received multiple rounds of financing and achieved profitable exits. Paul is recognized in his field by Best Lawyers, was named a 2024 Thomson Reuters Stand-out Lawyer, and is a San Diego Business Journal 2024 Leader in Life Sciences.
