July 26, 2023: For the seventh consecutive year, Procopio has been recognized in Law360’s annual Diversity Snapshot for its attorney diversity. The annual survey of hundreds of firms focuses on racial and ethnic minority makeup among equity partners, non-equity partners, associates, and other attorneys. This year Procopio ranked #12 among all U.S. law firms with 101-250 attorneys.

Of the 283 law firms surveyed by Law360, only 17% surpassed the publication’s benchmark, with Procopio one of those firms. Procopio led most mid-size firms in three diversity categories: Asian, Hispanic, and Native American.

Combined with our #6 ranking by ALM and our Mansfield Rule Plus recognition, this latest ranking indicates we are making solid progress as we continue our focus on recruitment, retention and advancement, knowing there is much more to do.”

Law360’s methodology sets a benchmark for diversity determined by several categories of representation, including equity partners, associates, and “other attorneys,” then calculates scores for every firm based on those categories.

In June, Procopio ranked #6 for diversity among 226 U.S. law firms surveyed by American Lawyer magazine. ALM first ranks firms on their percentage of racial and ethnic diversity across lawyer head count by role; various leadership categories; and their hiring, retention and promotion of diverse talent. The overall score then combines scores for the leadership, talent management, equity partner, and the nonequity partner, associate and other attorney sections.

In addition, in the fall of 2022 Procopio achieved for the second straight year a coveted Mansfield Certification Plus recognition from legal diversity incubator Diversity Lab, its top diversity ranking. Procopio was recognized as a Mansfield 5.0 Certification Plus firm for not only taking deliberate steps to expand the list of those considered for leadership positions, but also achieving diverse leadership representation.
