Procopio LaunchPad Startup Program Gears Up for 2020 Class
May 19, 2020 (Del Mar Heights, CA) – Procopio is moving forward with its LaunchPad incubator program in 2020, and has extended invitations to entrepreneurs with three inspiring startups. All of the benefits that come from participation in our incubator will be available to the 2020 cohort, including office space in the firm’s Del Mar Heights office consistent with the latest health guidance from the State of California and San Diego County.
“Entrepreneurs know that innovation has no limits, and that is still true during this unprecedented time,” said Procopio Director of Marketing and Client Relations Kevin J. Wilson. “We received applications from a wide variety of impressive entrepreneurs, and have selected three companies to participate in our 2020 LaunchPad incubator program. We’re confident that as with other cohorts dating back to LaunchPad’s founding in 2012, these companies will benefit from the incubator’s affiliation with an AmLaw 200 corporate law firm and its experienced and dedicated attorneys.”
The LaunchPad by Procopio program provides high-technology entrepreneurs a place to start a new business. LaunchPad participants form their corporate structures, seek protection of core technology, acquire early funding, and grow their companies in collaboration with attorneys who understand their industries and the path to success for emerging growth companies. They determine and formalize the appropriate corporate and capital structures, apply for and obtain protection of core technology and intellectual property, and negotiate and close early stage funding.
“I’m excited to return to Procopio’s LaunchPad incubator with a new startup,” said GeoPro, Inc., co-founder and CEO Walid Romaya. “I know from experience that the program offers unparalleled access to top attorneys and resources at the most critical time in a company’s founding.” Romaya previously guided two other successful companies, Realstir and Law Zebras, through Procopio’s LaunchPad program.
These three startups have been invited to join the 2020 LaunchPad cohort:
- GeoPro, with co-founders Walid Romaya and Tony Villasenor, a geo location technology for powering marketplaces like commercial real estate brokers and health professionals.
- DunRite Games, with co-founder Ricardo “Bato” Velez, a pioneer in the videogame virtual goods marketplace.
- Intellecy, with founder Emilio Vargas, a smart water management system innovator.
All Procopio attorneys are continuing to work full time remotely, and as with our clients, LaunchPad participants will have easy access to attorneys via phone, email and teleconferencing. Dedicated space in Procopio’s Del Mar Heights office will again be part of the LaunchPad offering, available to the participants in compliance with state and local regulations.
