Procopio Expands Growing Orange County Office With Experienced Financial Services Deal-Maker and Litigator
October 27, 2022 (Orange County, California) – The rapid growth of Procopio’s Orange County, California, office continues with the addition of seasoned attorney Steve Casselberry, who serves the legal needs of financial services, real estate, and insurance industry clients. The Orange County office now includes well over twenty attorneys affiliated with it practicing a wide range of law, including construction, tax, and intellectual property. It also provides a base of operations for the firm’s nearly 200 attorneys based in six other offices in California, Nevada, Arizona, and Washington, D.C., when serving clients in the Los Angeles/Orange County market.
“Steve Casselberry is highly respected in the legal community, especially in Orange County,” said Procopio Managing Partner John D. Alessio. “His addition speaks to our growing presence in greater Southern California, where so many of our clients are based and do business.”
Steve’s financial services clients include community and regional banks, as well as mortgage bankers, brokers, lenders and investors. His legal services include mitigation, litigation, bankruptcy, foreclosure, and loan and fraud investigation matters as well as business venture formations, problem loan workouts and acquisition of loans in bulk. With his deal-making and litigation experience, creditors often recruit him to resolve complex disputes and recover millions from debtors. Steve also counsels real estate developers, acquirers, contractors and individual investors in matters involving the acquisition, development and finance of real property, and represents real estate management, title insurance, escrow and construction companies. He has more than 45 years of professional experience in Orange County, and for more than 11 years he has served on the Board of Directors of RMA Orange County, the county’s premier banking trade organization. Steve has been recognized by Best Lawyers® for Mortgage Banking Foreclosure Law since 2016.
Procopio opened its Orange County office in early 2020 with Partner Mary Salamone, a Chambers®-rated construction litigator. The office continued to grow in 2021, including the addition of highly regarded Trusts & Estates attorneys Charles Lin and Renee Gabbard. Earlier this year the office gained two more experienced construction law attorneys, Partner Rosemary Nunn and Senior Associate Nicholas Fortino. Its Irvine location at the junction of I-5 and I-405 provides a base of operations for Procopio attorneys from all offices to meet with clients in Procopio’s office or their locations across Orange, Los Angeles, Riverside and San Bernardino counties.
The San Diego Business Journal has named Procopio San Diego’s largest law firm since 2014. The AmLaw 200 firm has two San Diego offices, downtown and in Del Mar Heights. It also has offices in Silicon Valley, Las Vegas, Scottsdale, and Washington, D.C. The D.C. office opened earlier this year with the arrival of life sciences IP litigators and Partners Steve Maddox and Jeremy Edwards, since bolstered with International Tax Partner Pedro E. Corona de la Fuente and patent prosecution Senior Associate Raph Kim. Procopio’s Silicon Valley office recently welcomed Real Estate Partner Tara Castro Narayanan, and Real Estate Partner Andrew Yocopis is the latest addition to the firm’s Scottsdale office. The firm plans to continue expansion in all seven of its offices.
