Procopio is seeking a Conflicts Assistant who will work directly with our conflicts team to handle preliminary conflicts requests and process client and matter maintenance. This position will be responsible for heavy data entry and the ideal candidate must be comfortable learning new technology and systems. This role will also correspond with the attorneys on a daily basis to obtain pertinent information relating to new and ongoing client matters.
Candidates must have great overall technical, customer service, and organizational skills, in addition to having strong MS Office Suite skills. Previous experience with Intapp is a plus. The candidate should also be able to thrive in a fast-paced environment where multiple projects are going on simultaneously. This position requires 2+ years of related experience (conflicts and client intake) in a law firm or corporate environment. Procopio offers generous total compensation packages. Typical pay for this position is $57,000 – $65,000 depending on experience. Bonuses are awarded in recognition of individual and firm performance. Full-time employees can participate in our comprehensive benefit program includes: medical (HMO/PPO plans), dental (HMO/PPO plans), vision, including options for flexible spending/health savings accounts. We have Firm-paid and supplemental life and disability insurance. We offer a 401k profit-sharing program after 12 months of consecutive employment. Additionally, we offer paid holiday, vacation, and sick days.

Procopio has an immediate opening for a full-time Intellectual Property (IP) Docketing Specialist at our Downtown San Diego office. The Specialist will work directly with the intellectual property attorneys and paralegals to monitor actions due for patent and trademark filing and prosecution. On a regular basis the Docketing Specialist is responsible for processing incoming postal/electronic foreign and domestic mail from the USPTO and foreign associates; updating critical information in the docketing database and maintaining its accuracy to ensure quality of records; generating docket reports and queries; liaising with and handling inquiries from attorneys, paralegals and secretaries effectively; and assisting with various other administrative duties. Several years of experience in patents and/or trademark prosecution is required as is several years of administrative support experience. Familiarity with IP docketing systems or experience docketing is required.
Successful IP Docketing Specialists have the ability to prioritize daily workload, as well as recognize and act on important details and deadlines. Our top candidates have at least 2 years’ experience in patent and trademark prosecution within a law firm an additional 2 years in administrative support. They also have the ability to work under pressure, respond quickly to changing demands, and are self-motivated with the capability to work both independently and as part of a team. They also have strong administrative, organizational and interpersonal skills. Typical pay range is from $83,000 – $105,000 depending on experience.
