Join Procopio LLP, in conjunction with the Association of Corporate Counsel, San Diego, on April 30th, 2025 for this important program held in our Del Mar Heights office. Enforcement and litigation under privacy laws, including the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) has recently picked up, with regulators and plaintiff attorneys aggressively pursuing alleged violations under the CCPA and other privacy laws. In this session, we will break down recent activity by the California Privacy Protection Agency, including the most extensive enforcement action yet, key litigation trends, and what these mean for businesses trying to comply with the CCPA and other privacy laws.
Why you should attend:
If your business has a website or is using tracking technologies or tools, it is important to understand the growing regulatory and legal scrutiny in the privacy space related to data collection. Importantly, there are also clear risk mitigation strategies and practical steps that companies can take to avoid getting hit with privacy claims, or at least help to understand the risks, but companies must be aware of them and put them into practice before any claims arise. This session will also discuss the importance of clear consumer choice mechanisms (and avoiding “dark patterns” that subvert user choice), proper contractual arrangements, and due diligence in ensuring compliance.
