Enrique Hernandez-Pulido Recognized as a Latino Leader by San Diego Business Journal
September 30, 2024: Procopio Partner and Management Committee member Enrique Hernandez-Pulido has been recognized by the San Diego Business Journal as a top Latino leader. The magazine has selected him as a nominee among more than 200 submissions to be named a 2024 Latino Business Leader of Influence. This is not the first time SDBJ has recognized Enrique. In 2022 he was named to the magazine’s Top 50 Latino Leader of Influence list. He is also recognized by Best Lawyers® for Tax Law.
Along with his service on Procopio’s Management Committee, Enrique also leads its Latin America practice and its Beer, Wine and Spirits practice. In his active legal practice, Enrique represents cross-border clients in business transactions, worldwide investment and financing structures, planning for worldwide income and estate and inheritance taxes. He previously worked in the Mexican government in tax, finance and administration. Prior to public service, Enrique practiced law in Mexico City.
Enrique recently served on the California Lawyers Association Board, the only Latino in that role. He is a past chair of the International Law Section and of the International Tax Committee of the Tax Section of the California State Bar and of the International Law Section of the San Diego County Bar Association and is on the Council for the Center for U.S.-Mexican Studies at UCSD.
Enrique has published articles on tax law and policy and has directed several tax related professional theses. He is a frequent speaker at international tax events through Latin America, Mexico and the U.S., including those organized by the International Fiscal Association (IFA), Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP), the Mexican Bar Association, the California Bar Association (now California Lawyers Association), the New York Bar Association, the Mexican Institute of Public Accountants, the Inter-American Association of Public Accountants and many other national and regional lawyer and CPA associations, among others. Enrique is a prolific writer of articles and essays on international tax topics and has been the subject of various media interviews in the U.S. and Mexico.
Enrique holds multiple degrees, including two MBAs (one earned in the U.S. and one in Mexico) and two law degrees (an LLD earned in Mexico and an LLM/ITP in International Taxation and Tax Policy from Harvard Law School).
