August 29, 2023 – Procopio has been recognized with a 2023 Law Firm Diversity Award from the Asian Pacific American Bar Association (APABA) of Silicon Valley. APABA Silicon Valley annually recognizes firms that have “demonstrated commitment to diversity and inclusiveness, diverse representation in the law firm, and an organizational culture that highly values diversity and inclusion in the workplace and/or in the community.” The organization describes the award program as part of its “core mission.”

“I’d like to express my gratitude to APABA Silicon Valley for selecting my firm to receive this diversity award,” said Partner Jack Shaw, an APABA Silicon Valley Board Member and Co-Chair of its Pro Bono, Judiciary, Intellectual Property, and Data Privacy & Cybersecurity Committees. “To me this is very important, because the award will inspire me and my firm to be devoted even more to promoting diversity within our firm and our industry.”

Formed over thirty years ago, APABA Silicon Valley is a forum for Asian Pacific American attorneys in the Silicon Valley to network, develop professional skills, participate in community service, take positions on issues affecting the APA community, and empower APAs in the Valley. APA attorneys in the Silicon Valley play a critical role in enriching our legal and civic communities by practicing in every legal field – law firms of all sizes, large and small corporations, academia, government, courts, legislature, and public interest.

This recognition is the latest of many for Procopio. In June, Procopio was recognized again by American Lawyer magazine in its 2023 Diversity Scorecard, ranking #6 among 226 U.S. law firms that completed the AmLaw 200 annual submission. In July, for the seventh straight year, Procopio was recognized in the 2023 Law360 Diversity Snapshot, ranking #12 among all mid-size U.S. law firms, and was part of only 17% of the 283 law firms surveyed to surpass the publication’s benchmark. For two years running, Procopio has achieved Mansfield Certification Plus recognition from Diversity Lab, its highest ranking, recognized for not only taking deliberate steps to expand the list of those considered for leadership positions, but also achieving diverse leadership representation.
