Three members join historical resources board

SAN DIEGO: San Diego's Historical Resources Board will have a mix of new and old faces.

Mayor Jerry Sanders has appointed three new people to the board and reappointed three others. His appointments are pending City Council confirmation.

The new appointees include Gail Garbini, president and principal in charge of Garbini & Garbini, a landscape architecture and urban design firm. Garbini will replace Laura Burnett.

Paul Johnson, principal of Johnson & Johnson Architecture, replaces Don Harrison. John Lemmo, a land use and environmental attorney for Procopio, Cory, Hargreaves & Savitch, replaces Robert Vacchi.

The mayor has designated Lemmo as the chair of the board, effective March 1.

The reappointed members are Priscilla Berge, Abel Silvas and Jerry Schaefer.

The Historical Resources Board, made up of 11 members, advises the city on the identification, protection and preservation of historical sites.
