Director of Human Resources and Administration

Responsible for management of all human resource functions for the firm and participation with management in achieving the firm’s goals through effective utilization of its human resources - involving planning, developing, implementing and coordinating all firm personnel-related policies; and directing personnel activities, such as staff recruitment, placement, orientation, employee relations, compensation and benefits administration, performance evaluations, discipline, separations, personnel records management as well as coordination of firm insurance renewals for cafeteria benefits.  

Primary Responsibilities

Translate broad general guidance and policy into programs and provide guidance on all human resource issues.  Enhance professional development of staff.  Consults and advises directors and management regarding state an federal laws and drafts policies to ensure compliance; assists COO with staff alignment to ensure an efficient utilization of work force; oversees management of the facilities and records departments; facilitates all annual reviews using ViDesktop and conducts staff annual reviews; assists in directing legal secretarial assignments; oversees management of payroll; coordinates sexual harassment training; oversees administration of leaves of absence; assists firm with various immigration issues associated with hiring international attorneys; attends unemployment hearings on behalf of firm; direct supervision of word processing department and staff. 

Qualifications

Candidates must possess a thorough knowledge of applicable state and federal laws and have experience writing policies and procedures.  Proficiency with Excel and Word.  Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred as well as courses in human resources management.  Must have a minimum of seven years human resource generalist experience in a professional services environment, preferably law firm with 60+ attorneys at a Director or Manager level.  Experience with organizational development also desired.  Minimum of five years working in a management capacity.  Procopio offers a very competitive compensation package.
