What is the approximate number of attorneys in each office?
Our firm currently has a total of 115 attorneys. We have 10 attorneys working in our Carlsbad office and 105 attorneys in our Downtown office. We have hotel offices set up in both locations to allow our attorneys the flexibility to work out of either office when needed.

Does your Firm have a Summer Associate Program?
Procopio currently does not have a Summer Associate Program.

Does the Firm pay for parking or provide a transportation allowance?
Yes. For those working Downtown, the Firm currently provides paid parking in a downtown parking garage near the office. For those working in Carlsbad, the Firm provides on-site parking at no cost to employees.

How long after a candidate interviews should he/she expect a hiring decision?
A candidate can expect a decision within a few days to a few weeks (depending upon the role, and the number of people involved in the hiring decision) from the time he or she has completed the entire interview process, which consists of several rounds of interviews.

What is the firm’s policy on casual dress?
Our office has a business casual policy during the week and permits jeans on Fridays. Attorneys are expected to wear appropriate business attire when at a court appearance or client meeting.

Do Associates have mentors?
Yes. Every associate is matched with a partner mentor.

What kind of professional development and training programs does the Firm offer?
Procopio’s Associate Development Program combines a sophisticated legal practice with a forward-looking series of mentoring and training programs. When an attorney arrives at the firm he/she is assigned a mentor and begins to develop a personal business development plan. Throughout the year, the Associate Development Committee works closely with our attorneys and offers a wide array of training programs, including workshops on skills development as well as retreats for all Associates.

Is there a minimum billable hour requirement?
Our Associates are required to bill a minimum of 1850 hours per year.

Does Procopio have an alternative work schedule?
Yes. Our alternative work schedule is available to each associate at any point in his or her career. Requests are made to the Firm’s Management Committee and a schedule is designed that meets the needs of the individual attorney and the Firm.

Will I have a chance to do pro bono work at Procopio?
Yes. Our Firm has adopted a Pro Bono Policy. We recognize that it is appropriate for persons licensed as officers of the court, regardless of their department or practice area, to have the opportunity to use their training, experience and skills to provide pro bono legal services to persons of limited means.

What are Procopio’s efforts in diversity?
Procopio’s Diversity Committee meets periodically to review, monitor and address issues related to the achievement of Procopio’s diversity objectives, including the recruiting, training, mentoring, support, development and promotion of its attorneys from all backgrounds. The Diversity Committee has significant cross-membership between the key management positions that affect the recruiting, hiring and retention of diverse attorneys.
