Spencer C. Skeen's practice emphasizes employment and labor consulting and litigation; business and real estate litigation; and administrative law. Mr. Skeen represents businesses, governmental entities and officials, and individuals in arbitrations and state and federal courts. He has successfully defended numerous class action lawsuits involving wage and hour, securities and unfair competition claims. Additionally, he represents clients in matters pending before regulatory bodies including the Department of Fair Employment and Housing, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the Department of Health Services, and the United States Department of Agriculture.

- Representation of gas and convenience store owners against lawsuit seeking $53 million in damages
- Successfully defended numerous employers in wage and hour class action lawsuits
- Obtained numerous judgments in favor of employers in sexual harassment, sex, age and race discrimination, wrongful termination, and retaliation cases
- Successfully defended world's largest plush toy manufacturer against nationwide class action involving claims of unfair competition and false advertising
- Successfully resolved class actions against local property management and real estate development companies in cases involving claims of unfair competition
- Obtained defense verdict at trial for geothermal energy developer against claim for $34 million in royalties
- Obtained $2 million settlement for Internet company in breach of contract dispute
- Successfully defended numerous businesses in ADA accessibility cases
Education, Distinctions & Community Involvement
Mr. Skeen was named one of San Diego County's Top Attorneys in Labor/Employment in 2008 and Corporate Litigation in 2007 by The Daily Transcript.
Mr. Skeen received his Bachelor of Arts degree in English from the University of California at Davis in 1992. In 1995, Mr. Skeen graduated With Great Distinction, Order of the Coif, from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law, where he served as a member of the Law Review and National Moot Court Honors Board.
Mr. Skeen is an active member of the Labor and Employment Section of the California State Bar, the Association of Business Trial Lawyers, the American Bar Association Class Action and Derivative Suits Committee and Committee on Business Litigation and the San Diego County Bar Association, Litigation Section. He is also active in the community and presently serves on the Small Business Advisory Board for the City of San Diego.
