Professional Summary

Mr. Polger is the former leader of the firm’s Real Estate and Environmental Team. His practice includes all aspects of real estate law, including acquisitions and dispositions, development, finance, syndication, leasing, residential, office and industrial condominium conversion and construction. He has become recognized throughout the real estate community for his unique experience in the multi-family area, where he has represented clients in apartment and condominium transactions exceeding $5 billion in value, and in the office and industrial conversion area, having been involved with over one million square feet of such product. His real estate practice extends throughout the United States and he has actively worked on recent transactions in the states of California, Arizona, Nevada, Colorado, Washington, Florida, Michigan, Texas and Hawaii. In addition, Mr. Polger has worked on a wide variety of commercial transactions, including entity formations, asset sales, stock sales, mergers and licensing.

In addition to his law practice, Mr. Polger is the co-founder and Managing Director of Pathfinder Partners, LLC, a real estate investment company focused on the acquisition, rehabilitation and disposition of distressed real estate loans and assets.

Education, Distinctions & Community Involvement

Mr. Polger graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in political science from Colorado College, cum laude, in 1984, and earned his law degree from UCLA in 1988. He was admitted to practice law in California in 1988 and in Colorado in 1993.

Mr. Polger is actively involved in various community and civic activities. For the past 17 years, he has served on the regional board of directors of the Anti-Defamation League, where he is the current Chairman of the Board. Mr. Polger resides in La Jolla with his wife and two children and enjoys mountain climbing, skiing, running, adventure travel and coaching youth sports.

Mr. Polger received the 2004 Transaction of the Year, awarded by the San Diego Chapter of CCIM.  In 2007 and 2008 he was selected for inclusion in the Southern California Super Lawyers® - San Diego list for Real Estate. He is an AV rated attorney by Martindale-Hubbell.
