Since joining Procopio in late 1994, Jim Perkins has been responsible for all of the firm's non-legal operations including finance, human resources, administration, marketing and information services, and is a member of the firm's management committee.  Prior to joining Procopio he had more than 20 years of experience serving as a chief operating officer/chief financial officer in the professional services, management consulting and manufacturing industries.  He speaks regularly on law firm management issues at conferences and international network meetings and also consults occasionally as part of the Procopio Business Consulting group.  He is a member of the Board of the San Diego Regional Economic Development Council and Emeritus Director of the San Diego International Sports Council.  He was the head coach of the U.S. National Rugby team from 1987 through 1991 and is presently a Director of the US Rugby Football Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to developing youth rugby the USA.  Dr. Perkins received his undergraduate and doctoral degrees in England before coming to the United States in 1976.  In 1981, he completed his MBA at the University of Chicago.
